The Morphing Matter Lab investigates the application of morphing materials that serve as both sensors and actuators. Natural erodium seeds are hygromorphic. The engineered seed carriers in the E-Seed project improve upon these natural seeds.

In these toolkits, we invite K-12 students to work with erodium, porcupine grass, and wild oat seeds that all exhibit this fascinating morphing behavior. These kits inspire students to apply morphing materials.
